Park life enhanced by three-tier fountain

Water fountains are a perfect addition to parks, especially if they cater for everyone – including our four-legged friends, as MIW proved in Wales recently.

We were delighted recently to see at close hand just what a great addition to outdoor spaces our water drinking fountains can be.

And this wasn’t just any water cooler, but one with a three-tier fountain – meaning sports players can fill their bottles, passersby can have a quick drink and their four-legged friends can cool down thanks to the bespoke dog bowl fountain.

The state-of-the-art, easily accessible Halsey Taylor Endura 2 water cooler was installed by MIW on behalf of the Vale of Glamorgan Council at Victoria Park in Barry, Wales, UK.

It was officially unveiled by the leader of the Vale Council, Neil Moore, and fellow Cadoc Ward Councillor Fred Johnson alongside members of the Friends of Victoria Park.

On what was a lovely warm day, the water cooler proved a welcome addition to the multi-sports area of the park and has since become hugely popular.

We also installed a fountain at the other end of the park, in the children’s play area. This is also a wheelchair-accessible fountain designed to keep the park’s youngest visitors, and their parents, well hydrated.

Cllr Neil Moore said: “The Elkay drinking fountains are a tremendous addition to the facilities at Victoria Park and it is a pleasure to be able to unveil the new fountains this morning. Drinking fresh water is a fantastic way to improve your health and fitness, so having these fountains available for visitors to use right in the middle of the park is superb.”

Chairperson of the Friends of Victoria Park, Sian Jones was equally pleased to see the unveiling of the new additions to the park.

She said: “It’s been many years since we first put the item of new drinking fountains on our group minutes, and now they are finally installed and working it’s just superb. Thanks to our local councillors for making it all possible, I hope everyone (and their dogs) will enjoy the health benefits and come and have a drink on us!”

At MIW we stock a wide range of water fountains which are suitable for outdoor areas and can withstand the elements, as well as vandalism. Click here for details or call 01207 572 000 today.
